Story

Kostka Hall Annual "Track For Timor" Walk

Support the students of Xavier College Kostka Hall as they hold their annual Tracks For Timor fundraising event. Held on the feast of St Stanislaus Kostka, 13 November, the students and staff will aim to walk/run the boundaries of the Campus OR the bayside tracks of Brighton for the sole purpose of raising funds to support Jesuit Mission. Proceeds will go to the Jesuit Education Project in Timor-Leste (or area of greatest need)

St Stanislaus Kostka trudged 725km from Vienna to Augsburg.  We aim to collectively walk or run the same distance in solidarity with our marginalised brothers and sisters in Timor-Leste.

Like St Stanislaus Kostka, in times of adversity, the desire to achieve a positive outcome is the inner drive needed. As the Covid-19 pandemic has had a direct impact on so many in our world, let’s get walking!

Thanks so much for your support!

Jesuit Mission (AUSTRALIAN JESUIT MISSION OVERSEAS AID FUND)

Jesuit Mission works in over 14 countries with people who are living in the margins, suffering the indignity of poverty and injustice. In each community we partner with local Jesuits and other companions to provide a range of support and training that empowers women, men and children so they can build skills, capacity and resilience to live full and free lives.

    The programs:
    - Break cycles of poverty through teaching and education
    - Protect the health of communities by providing medical care and programs that improve access to clean water and toilets
    - Develop independent, strong communities through livelihood training and income-generating projects
    - Support asylum seekers, refugees and displaced people in crisis
    - Enable effective emergency response and relief
